Rana earned her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and has been a part of the Communicare team since 2016. Rana began her health care career as a rehabilitation aide in 2010 in which she worked under the direction of highly skilled physical and occupational therapists in an outpatient clinic. Upon her acceptance into graduate school, Rana immersified herself into studying the effects of short and long term conditions. While in graduate school, Rana received the Barbara Jewett Scholarship award in her academic recognition. Rana was also involved in research studies including the role of pediatric occupational therapy in homeless shelters as well as caregiver training for the Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan. Upon Rana’s fieldwork, Rana received a perfect score in her community based clinical in which she treated individuals with TBI in a transitional living setting. Such score is nationally recognized by the American Association of Occupational Therapy to be given only to the top 5% of students supervised. Upon completion of her graduate program, Rana had a keen interest in community based rehabilitation treating traumatic brain injuries as well as treating physical and neurological conditions. In addition to Rana’s experience working in outpatient rehabilitation, Rana has experience working in settings including inpatient rehabilitation and acute care settings in which conditions have ranged from mild to intensive care. Rana’s focus is on client-centered care with an emphasis on assisting individuals reach their maximal independence within home and community based environments. Rana uses a variety of frameworks and models including the Model of Human Occupation and Functional Model of Cognitive Therapy to target individualized needs. Rana is committed to providing her clients with the best care to rebuild and recover life after an injury or condition.
