Raeleen is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Board-Certified Counselor. She earned her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University in 2007. After working in research at a tier-2 automotive supplier for several years, Raeleen returned to school to earn her Masters of Art in Counseling and post-masters specialization in Mental Health at Oakland University in 2015. Additionally, Raeleen continuously completes additional training in mental health, psychometrics, and other special issues related to therapy and serves on the executive board of the Michigan Mental Health Counselor’s Association. Raeleen has extensive experience working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries, developmental disabilities, and other cognitive impairments. Building a therapeutic relationship based on trust and mutual respect, with the recognition that her clients are not a problem to be solved, but a person to be understood is instrumental in Raeleen’s counseling philosophy. She works to create a non-judgmental, empathetic atmosphere where her clients feel safe to express themselves freely. She uses a combination of a cognitive behavioral, psychoeducational, and humanistic approach to provide her clients with specific tools to continue to succeed well after therapy is concluded.
