Communicare Michigan’s members have been making some incredible art for months! On July 17th, 2019 we showcased much of this art work in our Rochester gallery. We also featured the reading of several personal essays written by a member who is also an author. Our artist members were able to tell their guests all about the meanings behind their creative choices and the detailed processes that were involved in creating such beautiful works of art. We had drawings, block prints, and screen prints in handmade frames, as well as portraits created in partnership with The Memory Project’s initiative on display. CMI members and staff partnered with The Memory Project to facilitate the artistic rendering of portraits of youth who had been orphaned due to war conflicts in Pakistan. We sent the originals to the youth and displayed copies for our exhibit. We are excited about our artistic exhibitions and are looking forward already to the next one at the end of October this year. Stay tuned for the announcement!
